Earth Day 2025
Today we are celebrating the 55th Earth Day with the theme of “Our Power, Our Planet”. This is to highlight the importance of reducing waste and utilising renewable energy and resources.
So here’s some of the things Reeds are doing to help the planet:
– Our head office is built to a very high spec, meaning it uses the latest and most efficient technology, and is fitted with solar panels to produce renewable energy and reduce our carbon footprint.
– Using soil stabilisation techniques with machines (such as MeriCrusher, Stehr and Gyru-Star) to recycle on-site materials which would typically be wasted, and therefore reduce the import and export of materials, lorry movements, and the treatment of materials.
– The Wacker Neuson Electric series of machinery is completely zero-emission, providing solutions to support customers’ ecosystem and challenging site requirements. The ever developing series makes no compromises.
– Our modern fleet of machinery and vehicles with the latest technology means they are fuel efficient and no energy or materials are wasted.
– Where possible we use low carbon binders with modern spreading accuracy technology to ensure a precise application and minimal waste.
– On suitable projects we have used HVO fuel. Made from recycled vegetable oils and fats, it is a sustainable alternative to conventional diesel.
– A number of our companies vehicles are electric and charge via our head office charging points, which uses the renewable energy generated by the solar panels.
